SISTERHOOD COLLECTION

It was born with a reversion of our bag “NO es NO” from 2017, this time made with purple letters hand embroidered on a CHIZA bag with map of Chile in South America. This work was started by Camila as a protest catharsis after a questionable sentence was known in Chile for a well-known rape case that mobilized many people until getting it changed. Since that moment, in 2020, Camila has continued to collect second hand purple threads to embroider the letters on bags as an act of protest in support of the feminist movement.

In June of the year following the beginning of this collection, she organized the first shop window for the women’s strike in Aarau in the store Kaufhaus zum Glück summoning more creators for a collective shop window in collaboration also with The Green Corner a store of plants, coffee and community in Aarau. There, the first finished bags and others in process were exhibited, joining the campaign for the modification of art. 190 of the Swiss constitution that defines rape with the phrase “Nur Ja heisst Ja” and “Only yes means yes” embroidered on fabrics of old Swiss tablecloths. To this collection has been added intervened doiley and a limited edition of the first bag printed in Switzerland “Ecofeminist” and the bag “My body my choice”.
